About

Hello from Brad, Mary, Katie, Ron, Libby, Jay, Etta, Joe, Mitch and Molly

Sasse Farms was established in 1978 when Brad and Mary decided that farming sounded like fun!  Two town kids with no experience in farming…but big dreams. Imagine the response by the seasoned farmers, all they could do was to shake their heads.

Now, 32 years later, we still have big dreams, encouraged by our children and their sense of excitement and that reminiscing fun.  At times we shake our heads with a little cautious wisdom to those aspirations.

We have four children, who continually remind us that living on the farm was the best life we could have given them.  Funny, we thought we were farming because WE liked it.  As time went by, the kids would experience their own adventures.

Our daughter Katie lives in Hopkins and works at the University of Minnesota harvesting cells and DNA.  She is married to Ron, a native of Las Vegas. He brings the bright light attitude to the farm.

Our Second daughter, Libby, is a nurse at ISJ in Mankato, and is married to Jay. Jay was born and raised on a farm in the Blue Earth area.  They have the “pick of the crop” baby named Etta.  Becoming Grandparents is a whole new chapter in our lives and we just can’t get enough of her.

Joe is third in line and he has returned from his service in the United States Army. He was stationed in El Paso along with a 15 month tour in Iraq.  He is excited to be back on the farm and has given us the inspiration to try new things.

Mitch is the youngest and he is attending school in Iowa for John Deere Technician.  The knowledge he will bring to the farm will be a welcomed resource.  His strong work ethic is something that we rely on. Molly is his girlfriend and she is always willing to lend that helping hand.

Our children and the wonderful people that have been added to our family make us appreciate the interest, talents and the value of working together.

We hope that you will enjoy the fresh garden vegetables, laugh at our t-shirts and if you are one of the seasoned farmers…check out the products and companies that we have come to trust.

A note from Mary:

As in all families, the stories that happen in the everyday life create the history of our life.  Throughout this web site some of our stories are recorded on Mary’s Note Book. I hope it inspires you to write your family history with laughter, a bit of humbling memory and insightful wisdom.
